New Podcast: Streaming Video and the 2017 Award Season

Amadeus. Pulp Fiction. To Kill a Mockingbird. Julia. Good Will Hunting. Undefeated. Anna Karenina.

For the movie buffs reading, you’ve likely identified the theme: all of these movies are Academy Award winners. What you may not know is that they’re currently available to stream on Netflix. Following the Golden Globes and SAG Awards—and with the 89th Academy Awards on February 26th, 2017—everyone is talking about TV and film entertainment.

In our second installment of the 7Park Data Podcast, we sat down with host Aaron Endre and senior analyst Christopher Coby to discuss the current award season, its winners and losers, and how the combination of streaming and critical acclaim affects the way we watch TV and movies—and what Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu are doing about it. We’ve taken a look at our TV Intelligence product to better understand the trends in streaming content viewing.
